Calvin joined GCW in 1976 and has
had responsible charge of, and/or directed staff in, the development, analysis,
and preparation of complete and constructible design packages for a number of major
urban arterial roadways, bridges, and freeway interchanges in addition to a full
complement of drainage facilities. He is recognized for his expertise in flood control
issues of the arid Southwest. Calvin supervises the activities and products of the
internal specialty design divisions providing hydrologic / hydraulic analyses and
design, structural engineering, and technical specifications / construction contract
document management. Throughout his career, which spans more than 36 years, Calvin
has amassed extensive experience in coordinating with local, regional, state, and
federal agencies with jurisdiction in Southern Nevada. He actively participates in
studies, design engineering, and land surveying for numerous landside and airside
projects for the Clark County airport system, developing flexible and maintainable
designs for the rapidly changing capacity and safety requirements in the aviation
industry. Calvin also plays a key role in implementing mentoring programs, and
information forums for technical staff and EITs preparing for licensing exams.
