The GIS
personnel provide quality geospatial services to all divisions within
GCW. They facilitate the efficient and effective management of the
human, cultural, financial, and natural resources of Southern Nevada,
and its local communities. This practice has allowed GCW to analyze the
effects of certain designs and land uses on various projects in an
efficient and cost effective manner to effectively maximize the use of
facilities and properties by identifying potentially significant impacts
and assessing where additional analyses are required. GCW recognizes the
importance of GIS applications pertaining to appraisal mapping,
facilities management, infrastructure management, engineering, and
planning functions.
